I've had both this and the VersaFlame (torch) for over 7-8 years, I bought them together (not as a set).
The piezoelectric ignition broke on both within the first few months—whether it's Dremel or a 1-euro Chinese lighter, same little capacitor...
Not reliable ignition at all, you need a bic lighter with you.

The last thing you'll do is solder (with a tip) with this "soldering iron." Especially for electronics, forget it, only for electrical work, for heavy-duty jobs in special cases where you don't have power, etc...

In hot air/naked jet flame mode is where the tool shines and what it was primarily designed for.
It has heated/cut plastics, heat-shrink tubing, removed stickers, heated metals for constructions, soldered plumbing copper pipes, and many other things I've forgotten.

In terms of construction (except for ignition), after all these years, no leaks and the switches/regulators are trouble-free.

And the three stars I give are because I generally liked it as a soldering iron but it's not worth it. Not only do the tips burn out but also their catalyst, the review is based on two that I bought and one my friend (and all three broke down in front of us). Now, to get it started, it really gives me a hard time. As for the metal case, I just threw away the plastic base inside so I could fit all the tools needed

I'm trying to turn it on but it doesn't want to... It doesn't have the metal case.. very misleading.. I won't give even 1€ to Dremel again

The soldering iron looks just fine. I got it to replace a noname one from 1998(!) that I didn't use often and lost. I don't expect miracles but it does a good job.
However, be careful because I was misled by the user's video. It does NOT have a metal case, just a cheap plastic stand and its cardboard box. The one with the metal case is a different product
