He was a scruffy dog, weighing 45 kg, a Bernese Mountain Dog with a fluffy tail that he wagged constantly, full of curiosity about everything in nature and overwhelming excitement when the time came for his daily walk near his home in the Alps.

Oubak, that's his name (the search for the right name is an adventure in itself), is not the main character of this book; the author Cédric Sapin-Defour, his master, is even less so. The hero is their bond. This unique, evident bond, and for those who have explored it, it surpasses so many other relationships. This unreadable and useless bond for those for whom the companionship of dogs means nothing.
