Honeywell PTM7950 TIM

The Honeywell PTM7950 thermal interface material (TIM) offers a top-tier solution for high-performance electronic systems, particularly in the demanding field of graphics processing units (GPUs). The PTM7950 provides superior thermal conductivity, enhancing the reliability and longevity of graphics cards with its exceptional material properties.

Free Flow

The Free Flow cooling design is tailored for axial fan systems, with an advanced cooling fin module that optimizes airflow paths. By reducing turbulence and efficiently channeling air, it maximizes heat dissipation, ensuring stable performance even under heavy thermal loads.

AeroCurve Fan Blade

The latest fan blade design builds on its predecessor with improvements that reduce air friction, increasing the range of the fan's useful RPMs while maintaining low noise levels. This refined design ensures improved airflow, optimized static pressure, and enhanced cooling performance for demanding applications.

Optimized Composite Heat Pipe

The composite heat pipes are meticulously tuned for each individual cooling design with optimal heat flow, effectively and evenly distributing heat across the entire cooling unit.

Integrated cooling unit

Integrated cooling is an advanced thermal management solution designed to provide efficient heat dissipation to all critical components of a graphics card. This innovative design ensures direct contact with the GPU, memory modules, and VRM units, providing uniform thermal regulation. By addressing all major heat sources, the Integrated Cooling Unit helps maintain stable operating temperatures, enhancing the overall performance and reliability of the system. Ideal for demanding workloads such as gaming, content creation, and overclocking, it ensures optimal thermal performance under continuous use.

Hard Metal Backplate

The aluminum backplate provides additional rigidity, ensuring that nothing bends and that dust stays out. It also helps cool your card by increasing heat dissipation.

Two-Ball Bearing

These fans feature dual bearings, which have approximately 85% longer lifespan compared to sleeve-type bearings, according to our tests. The improvements in the fan blades make the solution up to 10% quieter compared to the previous generation.

games: it does, but who cares! (ok, elite dangerous dangerous fan here, might work with steam frame for the kicks)
    AI: oh boy, yeah!
On latest Fedora combined with a Ryzen 7900 the Rx9070 works fine with newelle (from GitHub and gnome-builder, don't bother with flatpaks) and anything I threw on it. Especially multi expert models fit the 16GB nicely, even 32B parameters at 18GB work, because not all experts are simultaneously on memory. Deepseek 32B quite reasonable, smaller models very snappy).
Is it better for AI that Nvidia? Regardless of money, on an open source system (EU technological sovereign act) it offers kernel ready drivers, open AI framework, ability to translate from cuda only systems, very able native support. Used the 7900 for local speach recognition and the best deepseek on the rx9070.
CAD: all Linux based cad software works great. Actually, I'm a 3D studio max refugee to Blender and CAD sketcher. Still trying the FEA solvers from open source, and greatly enjoy getting rid of Windows Autodesk.

overall: great value, great interoperability, vastly improved over previous AMD systems (a decade ago) and better than the wintel Nvidia stack.

It is an excellent choice for 2k resolutions. 100€ and 100w less than the 9070xt version, where with a little undervolt + overclock on memory, mhz, and power limit, it reaches the level of the XT. The difference between them is about 10fps, depending of course on what processor each person uses.

Silent, the sapphire implementation is really one of the best—if not the best—they have done an excellent job with the fans and the heat spread.

It doesn't have rgb, but it is quite beautiful.

Futureproof with fsr 4, 16gb vram which is now necessary for everything to run smoothly.

I recommend it 100% for those building a new computer with a budget of 2000 euros.
