Posca markers, shake the marker well with the cap closed until the ball rattles, remove the cap and press the tip several times on a test paper until the ink starts to flow to the tip.
To make them permanently waterproof depending on the material, do the following:
- Paper/Carton: No action needed, the pigments of Posca will be absorbed by the fibers of the paper making them permanently waterproof.
- Clay/Polymer Clay (Premo, Fimo, Cernit): Bake the items in the kitchen oven for 45 minutes at 220°C, then spray with a clear spray varnish.
- Fabric: For fabrics that can be washed afterward, iron the fabric from the reverse side for 5 minutes (without steam). After that, the fabric can be washed up to 40°C.
- Porcelain: For permanent fixation on mugs and cups, bake the items in the kitchen oven for 45 minutes at 160°C. The items can then be washed up to 40°C.
- Metal: Spray with a clear spray varnish.
- Glass: Bake the items in the kitchen oven for 45 minutes at 160°C, then spray with a clear spray varnish.
- Wood: Spray with a clear spray varnish.
- Plastic: Spray with a clear spray varnish.
