Next-level power

Break down every barrier standing between you and victory with the raw power and performance of AMD Ryzen™ 9000 Series processors. Herald the dawn of a new era with AMD's latest Zen 5 architecture, the key to unlocking unprecedented levels of processing power. With Zen 5, AMD achieved significant improvements in branch prediction accuracy and latency, while also expanding pipelines and vectors for increased throughput. The result is a substantial boost in single-threaded IPC, with an increase of ~16% compared to the previous generation.

The best thing out there, I have it together with a 5080 astral and liquid cooling, it has never gone above 65 degrees! In gaming, 55-60 max

I can't say enough about this beast. It's not called the fastest processor one can have for nothing (at least until January '26, when I'm writing this review). I always had Intel processors, but no Intel matches the performance of the 3D cache in applications that support it. Both in gaming and blender work, the CPU works flawlessly. Especially when working with blender, I've forgotten what solid viewport mode means, I work almost exclusively in render mode (eevee).

It is one of the top choices, undoubtedly. However, I want to say here that the difference is not chaotic compared to respectable sets or, if you prefer, even top sets from the past 5 or even 10 years. I wanted for a long time to build a top set in the range of 3,700 euros. So I will say again that the difference is not chaotic compared to older decent or top sets of the past. That's all, and happy computing to everyone.

The best chip at the moment for workstation and gaming, it definitely needs water cooling and fine tuning to work properly, otherwise there is no difference compared to the 9800X3D in gaming, so if you are only interested in gaming go for the 9800X3D which is also much easier to cool. In the tuning I mentioned, I have undervolted CCD0 -20 where the 3D Cache is located and left the second CCD1 untouched, and at idle it runs at 38c and in games up to 61c max and 64c in games like Call of Duty Warzone without problems, with the water cooling running up to 1250rpm max load.

It may be the top today, but the temperatures are dramatic. It hits 95C easily with a NOCTUA NH-D15 G2 cooler and an ambient temperature of 25C. We'll see what happens in the summer with our 40s.

I just got annoyed with the prices of used ones and went all out and got the top one at the moment. The best choice as I'm interested in both gaming and workstation. A bit overpriced but if you can afford it, the best choice by far. If you want only gaming or only workstation, get the 9800X3D or 9950X respectively. The 9950X3D definitely needs water cooling!

Relevant in EVERYTHING. Workstation, productivity, gaming... Just how a flagship CPU should be. Combined with MSI MAG Tomahawk x870 and Corsair Nautilus 360mm, PBO enabled (default) I have idle 48C, and in games it runs from 60-70. I'm very sorry Intel... But take notes

Top-notch in every way! I came from an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X and just installed this on an ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO with a simple BIOS update, I was blown away... No comparison, faster in everything, temperatures much lower (10-15 C) and much more efficient. The 5 stars are not enough.
