Every time I think of this story, I start crying. It became my favorite book of 2025 so far and moved me beyond measure. Haymitch's story is tragic, powerful, and full of messages and "battles" for a better world and... as much as we don't want to admit it, it's more relevant than ever.
For all the Hunger Games fans, this book will break your heart. You will see many characters we loved (or not) in the previous books and you will now learn in every detail the story of our beloved mentor.

If I regret one thing, it's that the first book is the best of the trilogy! Clearly, the continuation of the story is mind-blowing, but the first one is always in my heart.
If you haven't seen the movies, I suggest reading at least the first book before watching them.

Incredible book for young people and those who love action and imagination. The book has a great plot, suspense, and several important details that are omitted in the movie. If you liked the movie once, you will like this ten times. I highly recommend it.

Αυτό το βιβλίο θα σε κάνει να κλάψεις. Θα σε γεμίσει οργή. Αλλά, κυρίως, θα σε κάνει να δεις τον κόσμο των Αγώνων Πείνας από μια εντελώς άλλη γωνία. Είναι άγριο, σκληρό, συγκινητικό – και τρομερά ανθρώπινο. Και ξαφνικά, όλα όσα κάνει ο Χέιμιτς στη βασική τριλογία αποκτούν νέο, βαθύτερο νόημα.
Για εμένα, είναι από τα καλύτερα βιβλία του σύμπαντος των Hunger Games. Δεν είναι απλά prequel. Είναι ιστορία που σου σφίγγει το στομάχι.

If I regret one thing, it's that the first book is the best of the trilogy! Clearly, the continuation of the story is mind-blowing, but the first one is always in my heart.
If you haven't seen the movies, I suggest reading at least the first book before watching them.

Αν λυπάμαι για ένα πράγμα, είναι που το πρώτο βιβλίο είναι το καλύτερο της τριλογίας! Σαφώς και η συνέχεια της ιστορίας είναι ανατρεπτική, αλλά το πρώτο είναι πάντα στην καρδιά μου.
Εάν δεν έχετε δει τις ταινίες, προτείνω πριν τις δείτε να διαβάσετε τουλάχιστον το πρώτο βιβλίο.
Incredible book for young people and those who love action and imagination. The book has a great plot, suspense, and several important details that are omitted in the movie. If you liked the movie once, you will like this ten times. I highly recommend it.

For me, one of those was the "Hunger Games" book series, so when "The Dawn of the Harvest" was announced, I cried, died, and couldn't wait to get it in my hands.
I won't hide from you, though, that I was also afraid. What if it doesn't touch me like the previous books? What if now that I've grown up, I don't like it the same?! And I can tell you with certainty that my fears did not come true.
Every time I think of this story, I start crying. It became my favorite book of 2025 so far and moved me beyond measure. Haymitch's story is tragic, powerful, and full of messages and "battles" for a better world and... as much as we don't want to admit it, it's more relevant than ever.
For all the Hunger Games fans, this book will break your heart. You will see many characters we loved (or not) in the previous books and you will now learn in every detail the story of our beloved mentor.
For those who have never read a book from the series and this made you want to, do yourself a favor and take them in order♥️

Για εμένα ένα από αυτά ήταν η σειρά βιβλίων «Αγώνες Πείνας», οπότε όταν ανακοινώθηκε «Η Ανατολή του Θερισμού» έκλαψα, πέθανα και δεν μπορούσα να περιμένω να έρθει στα χέρια μου.
Δεν θα σας κρύψω όμως ότι ταυτόχρονα φοβόμουν. Τι και αν δεν με αγγίξει όπως τα προηγούμενα βιβλία; Τι και αν τώρα που μεγάλωσα δεν μαρεσει το ίδιο;! Και μπορώ να σας πω με σιγουριά ότι οι φόβοι μου δεν βγήκαν αληθινοί
Κάθε φορά που σκέφτομαι αυτή την ιστορία με πιάνουν τα κλάματα. Έγινε το αγαπημένο μου βιβλίο για το 2025 μέχρι στιγμής και με συγκίνησε άνευ προηγουμένου. Η ιστορία του Χέιμιτς είναι τραγική, δυνατή και γεμάτη μηνύματα και «μαχες» για έναν καλύτερο κόσμο και… όσο και αν δεν θέλουμε να το παραδεχτούμε, είναι πιο επίκαιρη από ποτέ.
Για όλους τους λάτρεις του Hunger Games αυτό το βιβλίο θα σας ραγίσει την καρδιά. Θα δείτε πολλούς χαρακτήρες που αγαπήσαμε (ή και όχι) στα προηγούμενα βιβλία και θα μάθετε με κάθε λεπτομέρεια πλέον την ιστορία του αγαπημένου μας μέντορα.

Sunrise on the Reaping is the prequel you didn't know you needed to truly understand Haymitch Abernathy. Εδώ, όμως, βλέπουμε το πώς έγινε έτσι. Και πίστεψέ με, πονάει.
Η αφήγηση ξεκινά λίγο πριν την Ημέρα της Συγκομιδής. Ο Χέιμιτς δεν είναι ήρωας. Είναι ένα απλό αγόρι, που αγαπά, που φοβάται, που ελπίζει – κι αυτό είναι που κάνει την ιστορία τόσο σπαρακτική.
