About the Series: The Little Dragon Coconut

The book series "The Little Dragon Coconut" follows the hilarious and action-packed adventures of the little dragon Coconut and his friends. In each book, the group explores new worlds, travels to different eras, and meets incredible characters, always offering laughter and valuable lessons. Another book in the series is "The Little Dragon Coconut Goes to School".

Suggestions for use by parents or educators:

  • Use it as a starting point to talk about ancient Greek mythology and history in a simpler way.
  • Encourage children to seek more information about the myths or locations mentioned.
  • Discuss the differences and similarities of life in ancient Greece compared to today.

With the book you can:

  • Discuss: Why did Coconut and his friends decide to help? Which mythical creature impressed you the most and why?
  • Ask the child: If you could travel to ancient Greece, which god or hero would you like to meet? What would you do if you were in Coconut's place?
  • Play/Create/Imitate: Draw your favorite character from the book or a scene from the adventure. Try to create your own "Olympic" challenges in the yard or park!

"On Dragon Island, it's very hot today. The place is boiling. The little dragon Coconut, the hedgehog Matilda, and Oscar the gluttonous dragon are sitting in their treehouse. Matilda looks at her book and sighs. 'With this heatwave, I can't read or think,' she says.
'When there's a heatwave, we have holidays! And we close the books!' says Oscar.
'Ha, ha, very funny,' says Matilda, sulking. 'Only the school closes because of the heatwave. The reading assignments don't stop.'
'And what are you reading now?' asks Coconut.
'I have to write a paper on Aristotle, a Greek philosopher from antiquity.'
