Description

Small and medium-sized enterprises are the backbone of the Greek economy, but the business landscape they face is filled with challenges: uncertainty, limited funding, tax pressure, and the need for constant adaptation.

The book "Small Giants" offers a practical guide for the survival and growth of SMEs, combining proven strategies, tools, and real-life examples. Business consultant Efstathios Liakopoulos reveals the most common mistakes, hidden opportunities, and ways in which small businesses can think and act like market giants.

Following a journey inspired by Homer's Odyssey, the book guides entrepreneurs through difficulties towards success by offering solutions to issues such as:

  • Funding and development in a demanding environment.
  • Leadership and strategy, so every decision leads forward.
  • Networking and partnerships, the keys to business evolution.
  • Technology and innovation, to make the business more competitive.

This book is a practical tool for any entrepreneur who wants to turn challenges into opportunities and lead their business into the new era. Small and medium-sized enterprises are not small – they are giants that have yet to discover their strength!

They said about the book:

«Businesses need four different types of people: a) the thinker, b) the doer, c) the social person, and d) the frontline person. Efstathios Liakopoulos' book is a smart guide to all of the above!»

Ioannis Kallias, TÜV AUSTRIA Country Manager

«Having worked closely with Efstathios Liakopoulos, we can confirm the reliability and deep knowledge that permeates his work. The book is a testament to his experience and vision».

Dimitrios Lymberakis, CEO Egnatia Aviation

«The author's long-standing experience in business consulting and deep understanding of strategic and organizational challenges are captured with exceptional clarity in the book».

Ioannis and Nikolaos Argoudelis, CEOs of CMA

«An indispensable guide for both professionals and the academic community. The intelligent combination of theory, facts, and practical solutions leads the reader to see uncertainty as an opportunity and to formulate strategies for success in an uncertain business environment».

Polychronis Oikonomou, Associate Professor of Statistics at the University of Patras

We liked it because:

  • Offers practical guidance based on real experiences of the Greek market.
  • It will help you identify the challenges of your own business and find solutions.
  • It has a direct and encouraging style that urges you to take action and change your mindset.

What the author said about their book (From the presentation)

The book was born from the author's passion and his need to provide answers to challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises in Greece. Stavros Tsobanidis believes that there is a pervasive lack of trust in the market, and entrepreneurs often focus on external factors (state, banks, etc.) instead of themselves and their business. It is a "wake-up call" for entrepreneurs to adapt to the new reality, improve their internal organization (accounting, credit rating, business plan), stop complaining, and take action by seizing the opportunities that arise. At the same time, it addresses all market entities, emphasizing that everyone is on the same "train" and collaboration is essential for growth and a better future.
