A very powerful read that has it all: do you want mystery? Tension? Family dramas? Do you want something that keeps you in suspense until the last page without tiring you? Well, here it is!
Initially, it was my first encounter with Holly Jackson and I can say that I really liked her writing and we clicked.
So, a few words about the plot:
Rachel, one day when she goes to the mall with her 2-year-old daughter, mysteriously disappears. Everyone considers her dead until... she returns 16 years later, unscathed, as if she was never lost! And, in fact, she appears at the time a documentary about her case is being filmed. From then on, chaos begins!
Although the book beautifully builds the atmosphere and you get into the minds of the characters, I personally figured out early on what had happened—maybe because I have a bit of an obsession with true crime documentaries, or maybe it was a little too obvious. ?♀️
Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable book, where it didn't just matter who did it, but also how a disappearance can tear a family apart.

Her books never disappoint me! This particular one might even be my favorite of hers. The characters were all so well-crafted, each with a mystery to hide, making the story even more exciting.
The plot was full, and although the book was standalone, it left absolutely no gaps. I might have preferred a less rushed ending, but it didn’t spoil the book for me overall. It’s a book I would easily read again, and I highly recommend it.
I also suggest you definitely read some of her other books, they are all equally unique and will surely keep you in suspense! In fact, her series "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder" has also been made into a TV series by Netflix.

Πραγματικά τα βιβλία της δεν με απογοητεύουν ποτέ! Το συγκεκριμένο μάλιστα ίσως είναι και το αγαπημένο μου δικό της. Οι χαρακτήρες ήταν όλοι τόσο καλό δουλεμένοι και ο καθένας του με ένα μυστήριο να κρύβει που έκανε την ιστορία ακόμα πιο συναρπαστική.
Η πλοκή ήταν γεμάτη και παρόλο που το βιβλίο ήταν αυτοτελές δεν άφησε κανένα απολύτως κενό. Θα ήθελα ίσως λιγότερο βεβιασμένο το τέλος αλλά παρόλα αυτά δεν μου χάλασε καθόλου το βιβλίο συνολικά. Είναι ένα βιβλίο που άνετα θα ξαναδιάβαζα και σας το προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα
Σου προτείνω επίσης να διαβάσεις σίγουρα και κάποιο από τα άλλα της βιβλία, είναι όλα εξίσου μοναδικά και θα σε κρατήσουν σίγουρα σε αγωνία! Μάλιστα η σειρά της «Οδηγός φόνων για καλά κορίτσια» έχει βγει και σε τηλεοπτική σειρά από το Netflix.

Sixteen years after her mother's disappearance, Belle is called to participate in a documentary that revives the case. Through this process, everything changes – because Rachel suddenly returns. But is she who she says she is? And, most importantly, why now?
I really enjoyed the book. It starts with Belle being at the center of the filming, visibly awkward, and this awkwardness immediately transfers to the reader. Her hesitation towards her mother – a woman she thought was dead who suddenly returns as if no time has passed – seemed completely logical to me. The psychological tension is constant and gradually escalates, without becoming tiresome. Although the book has quite a few pages, I didn’t feel at all that it dragged. On the contrary, it kept me engaged until the end, with ever-increasing suspense.
I had suspected some things, but the climax surprised me. The ending was truly unexpected – it left me with my mouth agape and made me want to go back and reread certain points. The characters are well-developed, and the fact that a documentary is woven into the narrative adds a contemporary, realistic element that works very well.
If you love psychological thrillers with depth, mystery, and dynamic maternal relationships, this book definitely deserves a spot on your list.

A very powerful read that has it all: do you want mystery? Tension? Family dramas? Do you want something that keeps you in suspense until the last page without tiring you? Well, here it is!
Initially, it was my first encounter with Holly Jackson and I can say that I really liked her writing and we clicked.
So, a few words about the plot:
Rachel, one day when she goes to the mall with her 2-year-old daughter, mysteriously disappears. Everyone considers her dead until... she returns 16 years later, unscathed, as if she was never lost! And, in fact, she appears at the time a documentary about her case is being filmed. From then on, chaos begins!
Although the book beautifully builds the atmosphere and you get into the minds of the characters, I personally figured out early on what had happened—maybe because I have a bit of an obsession with true crime documentaries, or maybe it was a little too obvious. ?♀️
Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable book, where it didn't just matter who did it, but also how a disappearance can tear a family apart.

Και μάλιστα, εμφανίζεται την ώρα που γυρίζεται ένα ντοκιμαντέρ για την υπόθεσή της. Από εκεί και πέρα, αρχίζει το χάος!
Παρόλο που το βιβλίο χτίζει υπέροχα την ατμόσφαιρα και μπαίνεις στο μυαλό των χαρακτήρων, εγώ προσωπικά κατάλαβα από νωρίς τι είχε συμβεί — ίσως γιατί έχω μια μικρή ψύχωση με true crime documentaries, ή ίσως ήταν λίγο too obvious.?♀️
Παρόλα αυτά, ήταν ένα απολαυστικό βιβλίο, όπου δεν είχε σημασία μόνο το ποιος το έκανε, αλλά και το πώς μια εξαφάνιση μπορεί να διαλύσει μια οικογένεια.
Very good case, different. You read it very easily and it keeps you in suspense constantly. It is the only book so far that I read so quickly and with interest. I will definitely choose to read Holly Jackson again!

Her books never disappoint me! This particular one might even be my favorite of hers. The characters were all so well-crafted, each with a mystery to hide, making the story even more exciting.
The plot was full, and although the book was standalone, it left absolutely no gaps. I might have preferred a less rushed ending, but it didn’t spoil the book for me overall. It’s a book I would easily read again, and I highly recommend it.
I also suggest you definitely read some of her other books, they are all equally unique and will surely keep you in suspense! In fact, her series "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder" has also been made into a TV series by Netflix.

Πραγματικά τα βιβλία της δεν με απογοητεύουν ποτέ! Το συγκεκριμένο μάλιστα ίσως είναι και το αγαπημένο μου δικό της. Οι χαρακτήρες ήταν όλοι τόσο καλό δουλεμένοι και ο καθένας του με ένα μυστήριο να κρύβει που έκανε την ιστορία ακόμα πιο συναρπαστική.
Η πλοκή ήταν γεμάτη και παρόλο που το βιβλίο ήταν αυτοτελές δεν άφησε κανένα απολύτως κενό. Θα ήθελα ίσως λιγότερο βεβιασμένο το τέλος αλλά παρόλα αυτά δεν μου χάλασε καθόλου το βιβλίο συνολικά. Είναι ένα βιβλίο που άνετα θα ξαναδιάβαζα και σας το προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα
Σου προτείνω επίσης να διαβάσεις σίγουρα και κάποιο από τα άλλα της βιβλία, είναι όλα εξίσου μοναδικά και θα σε κρατήσουν σίγουρα σε αγωνία! Μάλιστα η σειρά της «Οδηγός φόνων για καλά κορίτσια» έχει βγει και σε τηλεοπτική σειρά από το Netflix.

But is she who she says she is? And, most importantly, why now?
I really enjoyed the book. It starts with Belle being at the center of the filming, visibly awkward, and this awkwardness immediately transfers to the reader. Her hesitation towards her mother – a woman she thought was dead who suddenly returns as if no time has passed – seemed completely logical to me. The psychological tension is constant and gradually escalates, without becoming tiresome. Although the book has quite a few pages, I didn’t feel at all that it dragged. On the contrary, it kept me engaged until the end, with ever-increasing suspense.
I had suspected some things, but the climax surprised me. The ending was truly unexpected – it left me with my mouth agape and made me want to go back and reread certain points. The characters are well-developed, and the fact that a documentary is woven into the narrative adds a contemporary, realistic element that works very well.
If you love psychological thrillers with depth, mystery, and dynamic maternal relationships, this book definitely deserves a spot on your list.

Η ψυχολογική ένταση είναι συνεχής και κλιμακώνεται σταδιακά, χωρίς να κουράζει. Ενώ το βιβλίο έχει αρκετές σελίδες, δεν ένιωσα καθόλου ότι κάνει κοιλιά. Αντίθετα, με κράτησε ως το τέλος, με ολοένα αυξανόμενη αγωνία.
Είχα υποψιαστεί κάποια πράγματα, όμως η κορύφωση με αιφνιδίασε. Το φινάλε ήταν πραγματικά απρόσμενο – με άφησε με ανοιχτό το στόμα και με έκανε να θέλω να γυρίσω πίσω και να ξαναδιαβάσω ορισμένα σημεία.
