Windows Server 2022 Standard

The new Windows Server 2022 Standard is the evolution of the Windows Server 2019 operating system. It is suitable for infrastructure scenarios and workloads such as Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SharePoint. It provides effective threat protection capabilities, with further development of virtual machines (VM) that protect sensitive applications. Linux VMs are also supported.

Administrators can easily encrypt network segments between servers. The Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) of Windows Defender provides proactive protection against attacks and allows centralized management of the security lifecycle.

Highly Functional Server Management Tool

The Windows Server 2022 version supports hybrid cloud scenarios, facilitating connection with cloud services. Users can integrate Azure Backup, Disaster Recovery, Azure File Sync, and other services into existing infrastructures. The Honolulu Project is a server management tool that facilitates standard management tasks, such as performance monitoring and server configuration.

Smaller Containers and HCI Infrastructures

Windows Server 2022 Standard provides developers with the ability to modernize applications with container technologies. Images can be reduced to one-third of their current size, reducing download time. The Kubernetes program is supported, while the state-of-the-art infrastructures (HCI) are included in this version with integrated solutions.

Performance and Reliability Expansion

Its use as a Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) allows the distribution of programs and desktops among users. The Storage Migration services facilitate the update of old file servers to the 2022 version. The migration transfers the identity of the old server to a new one, allowing the disconnection of the previous computer from the network.

Windows Server 2022 Standard also includes the Storage Replica capability for replicating volumes between servers and clusters.
