Only, the aga, in the twilight of his life, leaves an incredible order for the day of his death, while fate reserves a deadly game with fire for the young priest’s boy.

Nonetheless, the plot becomes captivating when unique characters burst onto the scene. A Greek-Cypriot village girl whose life turns her into a cosmopolitan, a Turkish-Romanian struggling with her unknown roots, and a monk in the role of a demigod. The narratives, starting from Cyprus, unravel in Paris, Burgundy, Mariupol in Ukraine, Syria, Alexandria in Egypt, and South Africa.
