Citronella or Citronella Grass is an endemic plant of Southeast Asia, mainly found in Thailand, Java, Sri Lanka, India, and New Guinea. It belongs to the Cymbopogon plant family, with the primary species being Cymbopogon Nardus, which originates from Ceylon. For its essential oil, citronella is cultivated for use in insect repellents, soaps, and candles.

The essential oil of Citronella is obtained through the distillation of the herb and has a fresh, herbal, woody, and intense lemony aroma. It possesses significant insect-repellent properties and remarkable medicinal qualities.
