The Proteas MD05 dual water filter unit is installed under the counter and filters water in two stages. It includes a 5 μm polypropylene sediment filter and a 0.5 μm coconut-shell carbon block filter, which reduces chlorine and volatile organic compounds and improves the taste and odor of the water.

The unit has polypropylene filter housings, brass threads, and double O-rings for a secure seal. It includes a mounting bracket, a maintenance wrench, and a connector fitting set. The activated carbon filter complies with NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for taste and odor improvement.
