Although my TV has Google TV, the operating system is sluggish even with simple things like opening an app or selecting a movie. I got this particular box which has one of the newest processors on the market, although I was concerned about the 2GB RAM.
The box ultimately performs very respectably. It runs NordVPN and Tailscale alternately 24/7 in the background without shutting them down and making me reopen them every 5 minutes like my TV did, despite excluding them from energy optimization and similar settings. Finally, YouTube without ads.
Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG are all recognized properly. Apps open instantly. It runs Google TV OS 14 with built-in Google Home capabilities for those interested. The S905X5 that the box uses has AI upscaling (AI SR) which improves the picture on anything 1080p and below. It makes a small difference. Videos of low resolution are clearer, but nothing crazy. It won’t turn your 1998 christening video into IMAX, but it improves it a bit, like cleaning your glasses. Kodi, VLC, etc. all ran without issues and it read all the material I had from MKV files on an external drive.
Another big plus is the Match Content Frame-Rate! So when a movie is at 24fps, the screen automatically displays a 24Hz image that flows like silk, completely eliminating judder without artificially added or soap effects.
Now for the negatives:
A big minus is the lack of ethernet. The Wifi 6 it has is good on paper but in reality, the chip inside only gets 180-220MBPS. More than enough for any streaming, but not as advertised. Like cars that say turbo on the back but cough on hills…
Those who watch remux will definitely push it to its limits easily. Even the USB 2 port they included in 2025! Another minus.
Dolby TrueHD / Atmos in TrueHD still do not work or have issues. We are waiting for an update.

Now with the update released in early March, Dolby True HDR and Atmos also work.
Αν και η τηλεόραση μου έχει Google Tv, το λειτουργικό σέρνεται ακόμα και απλά πράγματα όπως το άνοιγμα μια εφαρμογής ή επιλογή μια ταινίας. Πήρα το συγκεκριμένο box όπου έχει έναν από τους νεότερους επεξεργαστές στην αγορά αν και με προβλημάτισαν τα 2GB ram.
Το boxακι τελικά ανταπεξέρχεται άκρως αξιοπρεπώς. Τρέχει Nordvpn και tailscale εναλλάξ 24/7 στο backround χωρίς να τα κλείνει και να πρέπει να τα ανοίξω ξανά κάθε 5 λέπτα όπως έκανε η τηλεόραση μου παρα τα exclude απο energy optimization και τα συναφή. Επιτέλους youtube χωρις διαφημισεις.
Dolby Vision , HDR10 , HLG αναγνωρίζονται κανονικά. Οι εφαρμογές ανοίγουν στιγμιαία . Τρέχει Google TV Os 14 με ενσωματωμένες δυνατότητες Google Home για όσους ενδιαφέρονται. O S905X5 που φοράει το boxακι εχει Ai upscaling (AI SR) οπου βελτιώνει την εικόνα σε οτιδήποτε 1080p και κάτω. Κάνει μια μικρή διαφορά. Ποιο καθαρά βίντεο χαμηλής ανάλυσης άλλα όχι κάτι τρελό. Δεν θα μετατρέψει τα βαφτίσια του 98 σε Imax αλλά το βελτιώνει λίγο, σαν να καθάρισες τα γυαλιά σου ένα πράγμα.
Kodi, vlc κτλ ολα έτρεξαν απροβλημάτιστα και διάβασε ότι υλικό είχα από mkv από εξωτερικό δίσκο.
Ένα άλλο μεγάλο + ειναι το Match Content Frame-Rate!Ετσι οταν μια ταινια ειναι στα 24fps η οθόνη προβάλλει αυτόματα 24Hz εικόνα που ρέει σαν μετάξι εξαλείφωντας πλήρως τα judder χωρίς τεχνητά προστιθέμενα ή soap effects .
Παμε στα αρνητικά
Ενα μεγαλο μείων είναι η έλλειψη ethernet. To Wifi 6 που έχει είναι καλό στα χαρτιά αλλά στην πραγματικότητα το τσιπάκι που έχουν μέσα ορικά πιάνει τα 180-220MBPS. Υπέρ αρκετό για οποιαδήποτε Streaming αλλά όχι όπως το διαφημίζουν. Σαν τα αμάξια που γράφουν turbo πίσω αλλά στις ανηφόρες βηχουν…
Οσοι βλέπουν remux σίγουρα θα το φτάσουν στα όρια για πλάκα. Ακόμα και την θύρα usb 2 που βάλανε εν έτη 2025! Άλλο ένα μείων.
Dolby TrueHD / Atmos in TrueHD ακόμα δεν λειτουργούν ή παρουσιάζουν θέμα. Περιμένουμε update.

Πλέον με το update που δόθηκε αρχές Μαρτίου παίζουν και τα Dolby True HDR και Atmos.
