Properties: D-Mannose is a natural dietary supplement derived from birch trees and may be useful in urinary tract infections. D-Mannose prevents the growth of E. coli bacteria in the urinary tract, playing a significant role in preventing and reducing the recurrence of infections and maintaining the health of the urinary system. It is a natural monosaccharide found in certain plants, fruits (such as blueberries, oranges, cranberries), and vegetables (such as tomatoes). Additionally, small amounts of D-Mannose are metabolized in the human body, with most being excreted through urine. D-Mannose helps control bacterial populations in the urinary system. Unfortunately, we cannot absorb enough D-Mannose from fruits and vegetables to prevent urinary tract infections. To prevent recurring infections, dietary supplements containing D-Mannose may be used.
