It is also all metal, slim and lightweight and very durable. I had such a maglite in the army and it withstood all external conditions and then lasted me maybe 15 years. Now that I lost it, I got a similar one to always have with me for my work (construction sites) and in times of need. Be aware that it consumes its batteries relatively quickly and then the light output drops where it becomes more "faint."
