The azulejos, originally white and blue ceramic tiles, were introduced by the Moors and fully adopted by the Portuguese when their king, Manuel I, during his visit to the Alhambra palace in Southern Spain, was enchanted by the stunning beauty of the Moorish decorative tiles. Captivated by the inner beauty of the Alhambra, the king immediately ordered his palace in Portugal to be decorated with similar wall tiles. As a tile placement artist, you have taken on the challenge to adorn the walls of the Royal Palace of Évora.
In the game, players take turns selecting colored tiles from suppliers and placing them on their board. Later, in the same round, players earn points based on how they have arranged their tiles to decorate the palace. Additional points are awarded for specific patterns and for completing sets, while lost or unused tiles reduce the score.
The player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.
