When the soil is sufficiently moist, the automatic irrigation system does not activate or suspends the watering if it is already in progress, allowing you to save water while enjoying beautiful and healthy plants. With rain sensors for automatic watering controllers, we avoid unnecessary water waste by stopping the irrigation when it rains. The rain sensor connects to AC or battery-operated controllers. When the internal flow reaches a level of 5 mm of rain per square meter, the system shuts off. The scheduled watering automatically resumes when the water on the rain sensor evaporates. The rain sensor should be installed outdoors, exposed to the rain, using the provided stainless steel mounting bracket.

The Rainbird RSD-BEX device is ideal for 24 VAC & 9 Volt DC applications and suspends the automatic watering operation in case of rain. It saves water and extends the life of the irrigation system by automatically measuring rainfall and preventing the irrigation system from operating when it rains. It is installed approximately 7 meters away from the controller, connected by a wire to a location exposed to rain.
