  • I’ve been reading crime fiction, Greek and foreign, for years, and the truth is that a book rarely absorbs me this much anymore. “Rec” by Giorgos Syrmas, his first book published by Ikaros, is the pleasant surprise of the year.
The author manages to create many complex characters without ever losing the pace, while the plot keeps you engrossed on every page. It’s been many years since I read a book where I couldn’t figure out who the murderer was before the final chapters—that alone says a lot.
It’s impressive for a debut. I can’t wait to read what Giorgos Syrmas comes up with next!
