Description & Specifications

Aristotle characterizes the passions as movements of the soul. Their inequalities lead to excesses and deficiencies, while their balance enhances common ground.

This philosophical novel simplifies the relevant reflections of ancient Greek wisdom and examines whether they influence the actions of modern individuals when experiencing opposing dispositions: courage or cowardice, honesty or deceit, shame or shamelessness...

Portraying an eccentric researcher and contradicting his own spirit, which becomes autonomous to comment and satirize what is happening, the author guides the heroes and heroines to connect the past to the present, mythical narratives with historical testimonies...

On one hand, the roles are frustrated by bitter memories of yesterday, by the barren toil of today, by the baseless hope for tomorrow. On the other hand, the characters find relief in the peace of faith, in the certainty of tradition, in the wings of love, from the life-giving ritual.

Imitations and improvisations, dialogues and role reversals enrich experiences, enhance mutual understanding, and limit self-centeredness.

The novel's conclusion heals the wounds carved by alienation and prevents the fragmentation caused by isolation. Symbolically, it thus concludes that contemporary actions validate the theory of the classical period, as through pity and fear they achieve catharsis.
