The Tedee door sensor detects whether a door is open or closed and displays this status in real-time through the Tedee app, along with the current status of the smart lock. The device consists of two components – a sensor and a magnet – which are placed on the door and the frame, on the inside. By monitoring the position of the door and measuring the distance between the sensor and the magnet, the device prevents automatic closing when the door is open. It can also send notifications if the door remains open for an extended period and logs all open and closed movements of the door in the device's activity history. Remote operation requires integration with a Tedee bridge that connects to Wi-Fi. Installation is quick and non-invasive, using pre-protected adhesive tapes. The device is powered by a CR2032 battery, providing up to two years of maintenance-free operation.
