Rafael

Eli Sinclair is a hopeless romantic who loves to write songs. I am a workaholic who can inspire hundreds of breakup albums. Seemingly, we have nothing in common except for my son, and I shouldn't be attracted to her. I avoid her as much as I can until our summer trip. And there I realize that I start to enjoy her company. However, after my divorce, I vowed to protect my heart. Even if it means breaking hers.

Eli:

What's worse, working for a grumpy single dad or admitting you had a crush on him in high school? Rafael Lopez is a billionaire with a company and a child to take care of. I am an unemployed songwriter whom he hired as a nanny. We coexist without problems until the trip that changes everything. Boundaries blur and my old feelings return. And I want more. Only that sounds like a heartbreaking song that hasn't been written yet.

The second book of the bestselling series LAKEFRONT BILLIONAIRES. A romance set in the small town of Lake Wisteria with a guaranteed happy ending.

Genre: Contemporary Romantic Novel

Atmosphere: Relaxed and humorous with a strong emotional background, full of "heat" and awkward moments between two opposing characters who can't stay away from each other.

In the book you will meet

  • A romantic story that begins with a summer trip.
  • A grumpy yet charming bachelor and a romantic nanny with a past
  • Humor, sweet moments, and inner conflicts

Why We Loved It

  • Because it makes the "forbidden flirtation with the boss" feel fresh and full of emotions.
  • Because it develops a relationship through real, everyday moments.
  • Because you will laugh, be moved, and want to see where this journey will take them.

If you like romances with clever dialogues, slow burn development, and characters with a past and weaknesses, then this book is made for you.

Read an excerpt

"Raphael was always grumpy, but in recent months I have to coax words out of him every time. Most conversations end as they began, with me wondering why I even bothered to try to communicate with him in the first place.

People like Raphael don't have good chemistry with people like me. I am overly emotional, while Raphael struggles to express his feelings. Opposites do not attract, despite the propaganda of fourth-grade physics teachers and their attempts to capture students' attention with magnets.

I rush out of the kitchen before Nico can come find me. My flashy pink socks, a colorful Christmas gift from Nico because he says I always wear black, muffle the sound of my footsteps as I cross the long hallway and head to the back of the house."

“I may not be the one and only you imagined for yourself, but I won’t stop until I feel like I deserve you.” - Rafael

How does life prove to you that it has a sense of humor?
Why, of course, when it makes you the nanny of the son of your teenage crush, who, by the way, is a bit unbearable and unsmiling and many other things, but above all, he is the one you always dreamed you’d end up with…
So, does life have a sense of humor or is it just holding your ticket to Hawaii?

Put on your swimsuit, your sunglasses, sunscreen, and flip-flops.
    Did you forget something?
    Of course!
    Your Love Unwritten!
Utterly summery, light, and delightful, this book is perfect for the beach as it will take you all the way to Hawaii for a large part of it.

The dynamic between Ellie and Rafael is palpable even before they become a couple, while their chemistry skyrockets from the moment they realize that nothing can stop the attraction they feel for each other. Rafael’s son, little Nico, is a real rascal and honestly could be the best matchmaker.

Lauren Asher is one of those authors who always chooses to touch on some sensitive social issue, and that’s one of the reasons I’ll always add her books to my TBR. The way she always conveys such important messages without weighing down your soul or depressing you makes you appreciate her writing and her stories even more.

    Chapter slow burn:
Can you get any more slow burn? YOU CAN’T!
Did it bother me? NOT AT ALL!
It suited the couple perfectly and made the tension between them even greater, so that when the long-awaited scene arrives, it almost makes you scream with excitement.

I recommend it to anyone who needs something light and refreshing for their holidays

Reading Love Unwritten by Lauren Asher, I thought that it’s not the most original story (rich, emotionally closed-off father hires a young woman as a nanny who carries her own sensitivity and traumas), but the way Asher builds the relationship between her protagonists is genuine and tender, without becoming melodramatic.

Ellie is a character you just can’t help but like. She has that quiet strength that doesn’t need to shout to be noticed. Rafael, on the other hand, is tougher and more difficult, but his gradual unveiling, as he lets himself go in his relationship with Ellie and his son, was very moving. He’s not an “easy” character, and that’s why I liked him more. He doesn’t magically transform, but he changes in a way that shows how much he is affected by Ellie’s presence, and I found that very beautiful.

But little Nico was the one who stole the show. He wasn’t just there to move the plot along—he was a character with substance, thought, and heart. His relationship with Ellie had depth, and many times it made me stop reading and say, “how sweet.” There were parts that touched me, but also others that bothered me, specifically when I felt that the characters struggled to truly communicate with each other, but romantic books always use the miscommunication trope for drama. Nevertheless, their chemistry is there, even in the silences.

Asher knows how to build emotional tension, and although the book could have been a bit shorter, I didn’t get bored. I felt like I was entering their world, and that’s always the most important thing for me in a story.

If you like slow-burns, characters who carry burdens but learn to share them, and stories that talk about family, forgiveness, and second chances, then this book deserves your attention.

I just finished reading the wonderful "Love unwritten, Άγραφοι Στίχοι" by my beloved Lauren Asher. A small town romance with a single dad and his son's nanny, spice & a wonderful love!

Rafael lives isolated on a hill in a big house with his son who suffers from an eye disease. So he hires the musician and nanny Eli to help him raise him as both father and son suffer from emotional trauma.

Eli has a heavy past and her music career as a songwriter has collapsed after an incident. So she returns to Lake Wisteria to find herself and takes a job as little Niko's nanny. But what happens when her boss is her teenage crush? And what will happen when she is forced to spend 2 weeks of vacation with him in Hawaii?

A tender and deep book by the beloved Lauren Asher that deals with serious mental health issues while talking about how life gives you the strength and opportunity to find yourself, your strength, and as a whole person to fall in love with your person. I really liked it especially after the 200th page where there was depth to the protagonists and we found ourselves in Hawaii. Eli's story was heartbreaking for a romance book and I liked how the author handled it, conveying messages without making it heavier than it should be for a romantic book. Little Niko definitely stole the show and yes, I caught myself smiling a lot and getting emotional while reading! So I highly recommend it to you
