Description

Nancy investigates a series of accidents at the theater in the twenty-sixth Nancy Drew diary, a fresh take on a classic series. When Ned is cast in a theatrical production of "Macbeth," led by the famous but eccentric director Bert Larousse, Nancy volunteers to help with the stage. She also gets the chance to attend some rehearsals, where she hears the director talking about theater superstitions: never say "Macbeth" out loud—only refer to it as "The Scottish Play"—never wear blue, no peacock feathers on stage, and so on. The show begins to unfold promisingly until Ned breaks the most important rule and accidentally says "Macbeth" in the theater. And then the accidents start happening during rehearsals. Quickly the situation goes from strange to frightening, and the director is ready to cancel the show. Nancy may not believe in superstition, but she believes in intuition, and it tells her that the cause behind these incidents is not a curse, but someone from the cast. It's up to her to find out who it is before the premiere.
