A condensed summary guide to the romantic, intense, and ethereal images of fashion and portraits by photographer Paolo Roversi. Born in Ravenna, Italy in 1947, Paolo Roversi discovered photography at the age of seventeen during a family vacation. A chance meeting with photographer Peter Knapp led him to move to Paris in the early 1970s, where he first encountered the world of fashion. His career truly began when he became an assistant to Laurence Sackman, who taught him the art of photography. Based in Paris for over thirty years, Roversi is renowned for his use of large format Polaroid film, capturing images of ethereal beauty, vulnerability, and romance. Working in challenging monochrome or carefully formulated color, he regularly collaborates with top supermodels and designers, having photographed for many leading fashion magazines and international advertising campaigns.
