Aside from "I Me Mine" and a few minor superlative additions, the entire EMI/Apple catalog of the Beatles was recorded in less than seven years: from September 4, 1962, to August 20, 1969. Twelve albums, twenty-two singles, two standalone EPs, 213 tracks. This alone is quite impressive.
But the quality of the music, the rapid development of musical complexity, and innovations in studio production elevated the Beatles above any other band. The Fab Four weren’t always flawless. But the fact that some writers take the time and energy to point this out and deliberately criticize perfect songs like "Yesterday" only reminds us that, most of the time, the Beatles were undeniably exceptional.
Writers Andrew Wild and Alberto Bravin listened to, processed, and discussed the entire catalog of the Beatles to remind themselves why they love their music. How do they impact us today? The answer: they were exceptional. They were then and still are.
This first volume covers the period from 1962 to 1966 - from "Love Me Do" to "Tomorrow Never Knows," including the early albums - which were different in the UK and the US, up to Rubber Soul and Revolver. Four years of exceptional music. Pages: 176, Dimensions: 14.8x14.8cm
