Ingrid lives a peaceful life alongside Rossi, her lovable golden retriever. Although she hasn’t left her hometown in Colorado for many years, she receives an invitation from her brother to celebrate the 4th of July together in Virginia. The fireworks of the celebrations scare Rossi, and a pack of dogs chases him, causing him to get lost.
Devastated, Ingrid feels she must return to Colorado. However, Rossi doesn’t give up and embarks on an odyssey through various states to find Ingrid again. During his long journey, Rossi will live up to his name – which refers to the abbot of a monastery – by taking on the role of teacher in the different homes he passes through.
And as he searches for the way home, he is adopted by various families and lonely souls, whose lives are changed by his remarkable intelligence and kindness. Where will Rossi’s journey end?
A touching story about the power of love, devotion, and the magic of companionship, proving that no distance is impossible for true friendship.
