Description

Little Tommy loves to play and put on theatrical performances, but how will he feel when he takes part in his first school show?

This cheerful illustrated book perfectly captures the pleasant chaos of the classroom and the moment when a little boy, destined to become a star, steps onto the stage for the first time. As it starts to rain and the stage shakes, everyone works together because the show must go on!

In the end, Tommy loves his time on stage so much that the real challenge will be to encourage him to let the show finish!

Tommy Jessop is a man on a mission to tell children living with Down syndrome that they are special too. Their extra chromosome makes their company wonderful. He is also an award-winning actor and was the first professional actor with Down syndrome to play a leading role in a drama series on television, in the BAFTA-nominated Coming Down the Mountain, and the first to portray Hamlet. He may be best known for his role in Line of Duty. Recently, he led the powerful Panorama documentary, "Will the NHS Care for Me?" Tommy is an ambassador for Mencap and an active advocate for people with learning disabilities.

Tommy's sister, Cara Jessop, helped him write this, his first, illustrated children's book. The wonderful illustrations are by Carolina Rabei. Tommy says of the illustrations: "They make me feel warm inside!"
