Description

Lenos. A giant with a face and, mainly, a heart of a small child, a colossal delayed teenager who walked like a bear, slightly dragging his big feet, with his hefty hands hanging by his sides, as if they were broken. When people saw us together, and they saw us much more often than I would have liked, we appeared to be the opposite of each other. Especially if you consider that I was small-framed, quick, and sharp-witted; not Einstein, but certainly much sharper than Lenos, the stupidity meter...

Summer, 1975. Two close classmates from Peristeri start working as loaders in a vast warehouse in Kolonos. Around them, an odd troupe of tough or good-hearted workers, the malicious son of the boss, and his provocative and desperate wife. Does innocence relate to brutality? And how can one survive in a world where even their protectors pose a threat?

A story about friendship, lost dreams, the guilt that weighs on our conscience, and the redemption that writing may bring. A novel inspired by John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, and at the same time, one of the most autobiographical works of Evaggelos Raptopoulos.
