Against the Storm for PS5 is a city-building and management strategy game with roguelite elements. As the Viceroy, players must reclaim the wilderness and uncover treasures for the Smoldering City under the command of the Scorched Queen. Rather than focusing on a single city, the game challenges players to create and manage a network of settlements inhabited by different fantasy races, each with unique needs and specializations.
Storms and the dangers of nature threaten the settlements, while resources, upgrades, and experience from previous expeditions carry over to future ones. Each location offers different challenges, with six biomes and numerous gameplay modifiers. The physical edition includes the Keepers of the Stone add-on, featuring the Frog race, two new biomes, and new buildings, orders, dangers, and opportunities.
