The Extralink OPIP-2000W voltage inverter is a device that converts the output voltage of a battery (direct current, DC) to 230V AC (alternating current). The 230V AC is the type of current supplied by public utilities to power standard household appliances such as a TV, refrigerator, radio, lighting, or to charge a laptop/mobile phone.
Connecting an inverter allows you to power household appliances in areas without access to the electrical grid, such as in caravans, boats, gardens, or other remote locations. Inverters are also ideal for off-grid systems and backup power systems in case of unexpected power outages.
This is a pure sine wave inverter, which means that the 230 V AC output smoothly follows a wave-like form and is almost identical to the regular electrical grid. A pure sine wave is much better than a square or modified sine wave for operating equipment.
Advantages of a pure sine wave inverter:
- Suitable for a wider range of equipment (in particular, equipment with electric motors cannot be powered by modified inverters)
- More efficient compared to modified inverters
This particular model can produce 2,000W of continuous power and up to 4,000W of peak power (peak power is useful if more energy is required to operate the device than during continuous operation).
Additionally, the inverter has a USB port for powering USB-compatible devices (e.g., mobile phones, tablets, laptops, MP3 players, etc.).
