What will you see in your adventure in Cascadia? On your turn, you can build your map and match animals and habitats to add observations to your panoramic view and earn points! Cascadia Junior allows younger players to experience the spatial puzzle of the award-winning board game Cascadia. This standalone game teaches pattern building, set collection, and basic addition. Meet bears, cranes, bulls, salmon, and foxes in this diverse land with mountains, marshes, plains, rivers, and forests!
In Cascadia Junior, players take turns selecting environment tiles and adding them to their ecosystem. They must try to match the same habitats to develop habitat corridors and earn more points by creating groups of three wildlife icons on connected tiles. When they make matches, they earn wildlife and habitat observation tokens that they can add to their panoramic board, where they will create their own personal picture of Cascadia's wildlife!
At the end of the game, all players turn over their observation tokens to discover the cones they have collected. The player with the most cones wins!
Cascadia Junior is a game that will allow children to learn the basics of pattern matching. Over time, they can use the wildlife scoring cards included with the advanced version, which requires more complex shapes for each wildlife group. Once children become familiar with this version, they can try the family version of the base game Cascadia and eventually the full Cascadia experience!
