Catan. That’s the name you gave to the island you and your companions have just discovered. You are its first inhabitants, so you build settlements and construct roads. Gradually, the exchange of raw materials between villages and cities begins.
Sometimes clay is abundant, other times there is great demand for stone, and everyone always wants more wool, lumber, and wheat. There are many opportunities for wealth and expansion—for you, but also for your fellow players.
Soon the island will be filled with people, and the search for land and raw materials will become increasingly difficult. In the end, one thing is certain: only one can dominate Catan. Will it be you?
