So, let me say that I have been a FAN of the series since I was a kid. However, here follows an objective review:
NEGATIVES:
- Very bad optimization. To the point that if it wasn't Mafia, I would have gotten angry.
- A wonderful but empty world. There isn't much to do in terms of exploration.
- Useless upgrades. The game introduces you to a world with many upgrades and mechanics only for you to realize that you don't need any of them.
- The graphics are not good. Okay, it has good lighting here and there, but objectively they could be PS4-level from a good studio.
- The missions are EXCESSIVELY similar to Mafia Definitive Edition. I played the previous one right before and they really seem outrageously alike.
- It's very short. I finished it in 9 hours on the hardest difficulty. I think it could really have had MUCH more content, I've thought of countless missions or side missions they could have added.
POSITIVES:
- The story is incredible. Without giving spoilers, I can say it is VERY similar to Mafia Definitive Edition, but at the same time it differs a lot. It's a very good execution of a very sad story.
- The acting convinces you. You bond with the characters and you hurt for them. The game starts slowly and that's good because you really see how the characters develop.
- The gameplay is very good. The stealth part might get monotonous at some point, but overall the gunplay is exciting.
- The driving is the best of all the Mafia games so far.
- Wonderful soundtrack. You tear up just by hearing the main theme.
CONCLUSION:
An intense, sad story of a forbidden love, which unfolds through epic scenes and battles, involving characters who are all memorable. However, the game world creates many expectations that, due to the game's duration, leave you saying "WHY isn't there more?" At the same time, the bad optimization makes your eyes and soul hurt as you try to overlook it.
Games now cost 80 euros. For the 45 I paid to get it at launch, I simply don't feel betrayed. It's worth its money and I think if they add DLC, the game world will truly reach its potential.
I support it because it really is a very good effort from a smaller studio, and it's wrong that many try to compare it to giant titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, etc. No comparison in budget and background, what are we talking about?
Λοιπόν, να πω ότι είμαι ΟΠΑΔΟΣ από παιδάκι της σειράς. Ωστόσο, ακολουθεί αντικειμενική κριτική:
ΑΡΝΗΤΙΚΑ:
- Πολύ κακό Optimization. Σε σημείο που αν δεν ήταν Mafia, θα είχα νευριασει.
- Ένας υπέροχος αλλά Άδειος κόσμος. Δεν έχει πολλά να κάνεις σαν exploration
- Άχρηστες αναβαθμίσεις. Το παιχνίδι σε εντάσει σε έναν κόσμο με πολλές αναβαθμίσεις και mechanics μόνο για να καταλάβεις ότι δεν χρειάζεται τίποτα από όλα αυτά.
- Τα γραφικά δεν είναι καλά. Οκ, έχει καλό φωτισμό που και που, αλλά αντικειμενικά θα μπορούσαν να είναι PS4 από ένα καλό στούντιο.
- Οι αποστολές είναι ΥΠΕΡΒΟΛΙΚΑ πανομοιότυπες με το Mafia Definitive edition. Έπαιξα καπάκι το προηγούμενο και πραγματικά μοιάζουν εξωφρενικά.
- Είναι πολύ μικρό. Το τερμάτισα σε 9 ώρες στην πιο δυσκολη δυσκολία. Θεωρώ θα μπορούσε όντως να έχει ΠΟΛΥ ψωμί ακόμα, έχω σκεφτεί άπειρες αποστολές ή side missions που θα μπορούσαν να έχουν βάλει.
ΘΕΤΙΚΑ:
- Το Σενάριο είναι απίστευτο. Να πω, χωρίς να κάνω σποιλερ, ότι μοιάζει ΠΑΡΑ πολύ στο Mafia Definitive edition, αλλά ταυτόχρονα διαφέρει πολύ. Είναι μια πολύ καλή εκτέλεση μιας πάρα πολύ θλιβερής ιστορίας.
- Η υποκριτική σε πείθει. Δενεσαι με τους χαρακτήρες και πονάς για αυτούς. Το παιχνίδι αρχίζει αργά και αυτό είναι καλό γιατί πραγματικά βλέπεις πως εξελίσσονται οι χαρακτήρες.
- Το gameplay είναι πολύ καλό. Το stealth κομμάτι ίσως κουράζει σε μονοτονια σε κάποια φάση, αλλά γενικά έχει πωρωτικο μπιστολίδι.
- Η οδήγηση είναι η καλύτερη από όλα τα Mafia μέχρι στιγμής.
- Υπέροχο Soundtrack. Δακρύζεις μόνο που ακούς το main theme.
ΣΥΜΠΕΡΑΣΜΑ:
Μια έντονη θλιβερή ιστορία ενός απαγορευμένου έρωτα, η οποία εξελίσσεται μέσα από επικά σκηνικά και μάχες, μπλέκοντας χαρακτήρες που όλοι είναι αξιομνημόνευτοι. Ωστόσο ο κόσμος του παιχνιδιού έχει πολλές προσδοκίες που λόγω της διάρκειας του παιχνιδιού σε αφήνει να λες "ΓΙΑΤΙ δεν έχει κι άλλο;".
Ταυτόχρονα το άσχημο Optimization σε κάνει να πονάς στα μάτια και την ψυχή ενω προσπαθείς να το παραμερίσεις.
Τα παιχνίδια πλέον κάνουν 80 ευρώ. Στα 45 που έδωσα για να το πάρω σε launch, απλά δεν νιώθω προδομένος. Αξίζει τα λεφτά του και θεωρώ πως αν προσθέσουν DLC, ο κόσμος του παιχνιδιού οντως θα έρθει σε αυτό που πρέπει.
Υποστηρίζω γιατί είναι όντως μια πολύ καλή προσπάθεια ενός πιο μικρού στούντιο, και Λάθος που προσπαθούν πολλοί να το συγκρίνουν με τίτλους κολοσσούς όπως Read dead redemption 2 κλπ. Καμία σχέση σε budget και υπόβαθρο, τι συζητάμε;
