It is suitable for landscape, architecture, interior, night-scene and astrophotography.

The optical construction consists of 15 elements in 11 groups, including three aspherical elements. The minimum focusing distance is 0.18 m and the maximum magnification is 0.26x. The SAMYANG linear stepping motor supports fast, quiet autofocus, while the custom button is set to focus hold. The lens has focus and zoom rings, an AF/MF switch, a USB port for firmware updates, and weather sealing against water droplets, light rain, snow and dust.
