I bought the first Einhell GC-EM 1536 lawnmower in July 2016. The last time I mowed the grass was in the autumn of 2022. Suddenly, the machine started struggling and emitting smoke. A few days ago, I ordered the exact same one for the second time, assembled it, and immediately mowed because there was no other option due to the excessive grass growth.
My impressions of this machine are mixed. When I bought it for the first time, I was thrilled. The machine seemed powerful, cut the grass comfortably, and most importantly, I really liked the easy height adjustment feature with a lever in 5 levels.
While waiting for the new one to arrive, I thought about fixing the old one. I was surprised that the motor was working fine but the blade wasn't turning. After unscrewing every screw I encountered with a screwdriver, I managed to remove the motor. What I saw was a broken belt. The belt-driven operation disappointed me because I realized that this way the machine has an expiration date. If I had known, I wouldn't have bought the same one again, but would have looked for a different brand.
To understand, the motor has metal notches. Through these notches, a belt passes and catches onto a large plastic pulley that rotates the blade. The plastic pulley does not have notches, unless they disappeared due to friction, which I don't think is the case.
In conclusion, the machine has very good characteristics. However, it requires caution during use. Now that I know, I will take better care of it. Maybe I am to blame for the belt breaking because I pushed it too hard several times. The blade has hit concrete and I have used the machine in tall clover with it set at a low height. Also, I have never performed maintenance on it. When I opened the old one, you can't imagine the amount of grass that was inside it in the most unlikely places. It requires attention. At the end of each season, opening and cleaning from grass, as well as sharpening the blade.

When the new machine arrived, I took the broken belt and the motor and took them to a lawnmower technician. He refused to fix it, claiming that he doesn't have spare parts. So, I took the broken belt, entered the listed code on a large Chinese platform, and received the new belt for about €6.50 after about three weeks. After struggling to install it on the motor, I assembled the old machine and miraculously it worked properly. I have already mowed 3-4 times with the old repaired machine without any problems, while I stored the new one as a backup. Because all these technical issues scare many people, I should note that my profession has absolutely nothing to do with technical professions. I am simply familiar with international purchases and I am somewhat handy.

Πριν λίγες ημέρες παράγγειλα ακριβώς την ίδια για 2η φορά, τη συναρμολόγησα και αμέσως κούρεψα, γιατί δεν υπήρχαν άλλα περιθώρια λόγω της μεγάλης ανάπτυξης του χόρτου.

Αφού ξεβίδωσα ό,τι βίδα συνάντησα με ένα σταυροκατσάβιδο, κατάφερα να βγάλω το μοτέρ. Αυτό που αντίκρισα ήταν ένας κομμένος ιμάντας. Ο τρόπος λειτουργίας με τον ιμάντα με απογοήτευσε, γιατί κατάλαβα ότι έτσι η μηχανή έχει ημερομηνία λήξης. Αν το ήξερα δε θα αγόραζα πάλι την ίδια, αλλά θα έψαχνα για άλλη μάρκα.
Για να καταλάβετε, το μοτέρ έχει μεταλλικές αυλακώσεις. Από τις αυλακώσεις αυτές περνάει ένας ιμάντας που πιάνει πάνω σε μια μεγάλη πλαστική τροχαλία η οποία γυρίζει τη λεπίδα. Η πλαστική τροχαλία δεν έχει αυλακώσεις. Εκτός κι αν είχε και με την τριβή εξαφανίστηκαν, που δεν το νομίζω.
Συμπερασματικά, η μηχανή έχει πολύ καλά χαρακτηριστικά. Χρειάζεται όμως προσοχή στη χρήση. Τώρα που γνωρίζω, θα την προσέχω περισσότερο. Μπορεί να φταίω κι εγώ που κόπηκε ο ιμάντας, γιατί τη ζόρισα αρκετές φορές. Έχει χτυπήσει η λεπίδα στο τσιμέντο και έχω μπει με τη μηχανή σε ψηλό τριφύλλι έχοντάς την σε χαμηλό ύψος. Επίσης δεν της έκανα ποτέ συντήρηση. Όταν άνοιξα την παλιά, δε φαντάζεστε τι χόρτα υπήρχαν μέσα της στα πιο απίθανα σημεία. Χρειάζεται προσοχή. Οι εντυπώσεις μου από αυτή την μηχανή είναι ανάμεικτες. Όταν την αγόρασα για 1η φορά ενθουσιάστηκα. Η μηχανή έδειχνε ισχυρή, έκοβε το χόρτο με άνεση και το κυριότερο, μου άρεσε πάρα πολύ η πανεύκολη δυνατότητα αλλαγής του ύψους κοπής με έναν λεβιέ σε 5 επίπεδα.
Όσο περίμενα να έρθει η καινούρια, σκέφτηκα να λύσω την παλιά. Με παραξένεψε το γεγονός ότι το μοτέρ δούλευε κανονικά, αλλά δε γυρνούσε τη λεπίδα. Αφού ξεβίδωσα ό,τι βίδα συνάντησα με ένα σταυροκατσάβιδο, κατάφερα να βγάλω το μοτέρ. Αυτό που αντίκρισα ήταν ένας κομμένος ιμάντας. Ο τρόπος λειτουργίας με τον ιμάντα με απογοήτευσε, γιατί κατάλαβα ότι έτσι η μηχανή έχει ημερομηνία λήξης. Αν το ήξερα δε θα αγόραζα πάλι την ίδια, αλλά θα έψαχνα για άλλη μάρκα.
Για να καταλάβετε, το μοτέρ έχει μεταλλικές αυλακώσεις. Από τις αυλακώσεις αυτές περνάει ένας ιμάντας που πιάνει πάνω σε μια μεγάλη πλαστική τροχαλία η οποία γυρίζει τη λεπίδα. Η πλαστική τροχαλία δεν έχει αυλακώσεις. Εκτός κι αν είχε και με την τριβή εξαφανίστηκαν, που δεν το νομίζω.
Συμπερασματικά, η μηχανή έχει πολύ καλά χαρακτηριστικά. Χρειάζεται όμως προσοχή στη χρήση. Τώρα που γνωρίζω, θα την προσέχω περισσότερο. Μπορεί να φταίω κι εγώ που κόπηκε ο ιμάντας, γιατί τη ζόρισα αρκετές φορές. Έχει χτυπήσει η λεπίδα στο τσιμέντο και έχω μπει με τη μηχανή σε ψηλό τριφύλλι έχοντάς την σε χαμηλό ύψος. Επίσης δεν της έκανα ποτέ συντήρηση. Όταν άνοιξα την παλιά, δε φαντάζεστε τι χόρτα υπήρχαν μέσα της στα πιο απίθανα σημεία. Χρειάζεται προσοχή. Στο τέλος της κάθε σεζόν, άνοιγμα και καθάρισμα από τα χόρτα, όπως και ακόνισμα της λεπίδας.

Όταν ήρθε η καινούρια μηχανή, πήρα τον κομμένο ιμάντα και το μοτέρ και τα πήγα σε τεχνίτη χλοοκοπτικών μηχανών. Αρνήθηκε να μου τη φτιάξει με τη δικαιολογία ότι δεν έχει ανταλλακτικά. Πήρα λοιπόν τον κομμένο ιμάντα, πληκτρολόγησα τον αναγραφόμενο κωδικό σε μεγάλη κινέζικη πλατφόρμα και με 6,50€ παρέλαβα τον καινούριο ιμάντα μετά από τρεις εβδομάδες περίπου. Αφού τον πέρασα στο μοτέρ με μια σχετική δυσκολία, συναρμολόγησα την παλιά μηχανή και ως εκ θαύματος δούλεψε κανονικά. Ήδη έχω κουρέψει 3-4 φορές με την παλιά επιδιορθωμένη μηχανή χωρίς κανένα πρόβλημα, ενώ την καινούρια την αποθήκευσα για να την έχω ως ρεζέρβα. Επειδή όλα αυτά τα τεχνικά θέματα τρομάζουν πολύ κόσμο, να σημειώσω ότι το επάγγελμά μου δεν έχει καμιά απολύτως σχέση με τεχνικά επαγγέλματα. Απλά, είμαι εξοικειωμένος με αγορές από το εξωτερικό και πιάνουν λίγο τα χέρια μου.
