This book transported me to the Italian countryside and made me feel a part of it with its beautiful descriptions and successful depiction of the scenes. The characters all seemed to come from a small community that forgot itself somewhere in a past decade, while the story itself takes you on a journey and relaxes you before you even realize it.
Finally, I admire the way this book shows its influences from J. Austen but has managed to give its characters their own right without becoming a bad copy of the original.
It’s definitely not my favorite by the author but I swear Felicia Kingsley always finds her way to win you over and keep you. She never disappoints.
I recommend it to anyone who has more than one edition of Pride and Prejudice on their bookshelf

Η Βασίλισσα του Ιταλικού rom-com επιστρέφει και φυσικά θα σε κατακτήσει με τον μοναδικό και εθιστικό τρόπο που μόνο αυτή ξέρει να αποτυπώνει τις ιστορίες της. Κωμικές σκηνές, πολλά ευτράπελα, λίγο παρελθόν που κρύβει κάποια μυστικά και μια γνωριμία από τα παλιά που θα αναζωπυρωθεί στο σήμερα.
Το βιβλίο αυτό με ταξίδεψε στην Ιταλική επαρχία και με έκανε να νιώσω κομμάτι της με την ωραία περιγραφή και την πετυχημένη απόδοση των σκηνών. Οι χαρακτήρες ήταν όλοι βγαλμένοι από μια μικρή κοινότητα που ξέχασε τον εαυτό της κάπου σε κάποια παλιότερη δεκαετία ενώ η ίδια η ιστορία σε ταξειδευει και σε χαλαρώνει πριν καν το καταλάβεις.
Τέλος θαυμάζω τον τρόπο που αυτό το βιβλίο δείχνει της επιρροές του από την J. Austen αλλά έχει καταφέρει να αποκτήσει το δίκιο του χαρακτήρες χωρίς να γίνεται μια κακή αντιγραφή του προτότυπου.
Σίγουρα δεν είναι το αγαπημένο μου της συγγραφέως αλλά ορκίζομαι πως η Felicia Kingsley πάντα βρίσκει τον τρόπο της να σε κερδίσει και να σε κρατήσει. Δεν απογοητεύει ποτέ
