MIZUKI 1 LIT
pyraflufen ethyl 1.06%
It is used as a herbicide for broadleaf weeds in potatoes, for desiccation of stems before harvesting "greedy" shoots in tree crops. It is also used as a contact herbicide for controlling fleabane in apple and peach crops.
Pyraflufen-ethyl belongs to the phenylpyrazole group and is an inhibitor of the enzyme protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO), obstructing the plant's photosynthetic pathways. Consequently, its action is enhanced under intense sunlight conditions. Pyraflufen-ethyl has post-emergence contact action against only broadleaf weeds. In potatoes, for the purpose of desiccating stems before harvest, it should be added to the spray adhesive formulation.
