MIZUKI 1 LIT
pyraflufen ethyl 1.06%
It is used as a herbicide for broadleaf weeds, in potatoes, for desiccating stems before harvesting "greedy" shoots in tree crops. It is also used as a contact herbicide to combat horseweed in apple and peach crops.
Pyraflufen-ethyl belongs to the phenylpyrazoles group, and it is an inhibitor of the enzyme protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO), blocking the photosynthetic pathways of the plant. Consequently, its action is enhanced under conditions of intense sunlight. Pyraflufen-ethyl has post-emergence contact activity only against broadleaf weeds. In potatoes, for the use of stem desiccation before harvesting, it should be added to the spray adhesive formulation.
