Use the color fixative immediately after dyeing to "lock in" the color and prevent fading. The dyeing technique requires a sink or bucket and hot water.
The final color depends on the type of fabric, the amount of dye used, the temperature of the water, and the time the fabric remains in the dye mixture. The dye may not be effective on fabrics damaged by bleach. It is not recommended for synthetic fibers, fabrics with a rubber coating, or fabrics that require cold water washing or are dry clean only.
