It is neither Losec nor any other medicine for reducing acid so that it can be compared or used as a replacement therapy. What it does is create a protective film and relieves when the acid irritates the mucosa.
It has helped me in cases where the acid had reached very high and caused me choking and I had difficulty swallowing... it acted relatively quickly.
