Purchased because I have always felt awe at the sound of the company’s name and, finding it hard to believe that I would acquire such a device with the company logo on it at this price. I replaced the damaged woofers in the Renault Twingo with Pioneer coaxials, and that was where the first disappointment appeared. Wonderful highs, some mids, and that was it. At one point I thought I had not set the polarities correctly. Without even trying to reverse them, I waited for the 5.25" woofers I had already ordered, which I installed; I saw the cones vibrating nicely, but the bass was in no way satisfying and, in general, the small space of the car was not being filled with sound at all. Even more attempts to adjust the sound with the equalizer over 3-4 nights in the yard of the house where it was quiet, and each time it got even better. I was ready to buy a Clarion or Pioneer model (probably the first, since I would have the ability to give it the same blue lighting so I could believe that the change would not be noticed by my wife), but I still believed that I had not done something right. The penultimate time something improved, and today the sound reached the perfection I could achieve. Yes, I hear bass from a 5" woofer (for my setup, 3 Rolling Stones tracks with Charlie Watts’ kick drum were enough), and it is not far from what I hear from my expensive systems at home. Of course, any thought of replacing it was abandoned. In conclusion, this is an excellent device with incredible sound quality that literally kicks ass as well. No distortion was heard even at full power, crystal-clear highs (what tweeters could this particular car model possibly have from the factory so that you hear the highs as if they were coming from expensive Bose...). Mids and lows are no longer even up for discussion, simply wonderful. The receiver is amazing! In a Bluetooth conversation I had after a phone call that lasted quite a while, I did not hear any complaint that the person I was speaking with could not hear me well (speaking using the device’s microphone, which is also mounted at a lower level). It should be noted that the device connects instantly to the phone. I am sorry because I read a review elsewhere from someone who found this so elegant audio device kitsch because the colors changed. That is as far as their thinking goes, and no further, to set a color they like. Others found the plastics cheap, but they did not consider that if everything were as it used to be in the company’s products, the price would be 4x higher. Some thought it looked Chinese in construction, but that happens when, by paying around 70 euros, you gain the right to criticize a product from a historic company that you should normally thank God you had the chance to acquire. Personally, it reminded me of Jensen from the 1980s, and since then I had not felt such excitement. For those who know how to appreciate sound quality, it is highly recommended!
