A kind-hearted fabric merchant falls in love with and marries Kiki, whom the neighborhood butcher wants to make the star of Greek cinema in a film of his own production and script. The husband objects, but eventually gives in. In the end, after the film fails, the wife, now pregnant, returns to her original position at the shop's cash register.
