Thanasis is a kind-hearted chemist who works at Stelios Tempesiroglou's company and is interested in both discovering a new plastic material and marrying the beautiful Frossa, the boss's secretary.

He succeeds in both, but on the first night of the wedding, he is called for training in the army. His plane crashes in Vietnam, and he is declared missing.
