Charalambos Roupas: the last Blackshirt of Aris Velouchiotis's following.

"The war caught him in his final year. Afterwards, he came to Athens and entered the Faculty of Philosophy. There, he joined E.P.O.N. He started working both for the organization and for the University. He traveled back and forth to Aigio. The war was intensifying, and the older members knew him well due to his qualities."

"Once, Aris passed through, in 1944. He crossed with boats from the opposite bank towards the Peloponnese. Everyone was on horseback, and they crossed using the boats. The Aigio organization had sent Lambis to greet him. The next day, Aris asked for an educated man, a young boy, and the organization chose him."

"He kept him, spoke with him, and said, 'You will stay here tonight.' The next day, he told him: 'Listen, I chose you without knowing you, and I see that you are the one I want. From now on, you are my cryptographer and Blackshirt.' And he takes a black headscarf and puts it on him. 'From today, beside me.' Thus, he lived his entire time with him. He loved him very much, he was willing to die for Aris. But Aris also loved him very much. Because he was very well-educated spiritually. And he could fulfill Aris's wishes through his writings. He was always close to him."

Until the Battle of Varkiza. They dispersed afterward. Aris left. And this man returned to the university. However, he did not surrender his weapons.
