Basswood Body Construction & Gary Holt SV Design
The instrument’s body features the distinctive asymmetrical SV shape and is crafted from selected solid basswood (Solid Basswood). This wood is known for its balanced acoustic weight and even frequency response, with an emphasis on the midrange that helps preserve tonal clarity in high-gain rhythm riffs. The body bevels improve balance when playing while standing and reduce strain on the picking hand. The Black Gloss finish is framed by striking red binding on the body and headstock, creating Gary Holt’s signature two-tone look.
3-Piece Maple Neck, Thin U Profile & Roasted Jatoba Fingerboard
The neck is constructed from three pieces of maple (3-Piece Maple) arranged with opposing grain directions, a structure that provides increased rigidity and resistance to warping caused by temperature fluctuations. It has a fast Thin "U" profile, measuring 20 mm thick at the 1st fret and 22 mm at the 12th fret, ensuring stability and speed when changing positions. The fingerboard is made of thermally treated roasted jatoba (Roasted Jatoba), with a 350 mm radius and a 24.75" (628 mm) scale length. It features 22 Extra Jumbo frets, offering less mechanical resistance during bends and stable finger support.
ESP Designed LH-301 Electronics, Coil-Split & Floyd Rose System
The electrical circuit features two passive ESP Designed LH-301 humbuckers, voiced for high output, pronounced attack, and a tight low-frequency response. The Master Volume knob features a Push-Pull Coil-Split switch, which splits the pickup coils for clear, articulate single-coil tones. The 3-way toggle selector lets you switch instantly between pickup combinations. The hardware setup is built around a Floyd Rose Special Double-Locking Tremolo bridge and a matching 42 mm metal locking nut, allowing extensive tremolo use while maintaining tuning stability.
