Το όργανο συνδυάζει καπάκι από μασίφ έλατο Sitka (Solid Sitka Spruce) με πλάτη και πλαϊνά από ανθεκτικό σύνθετο υλικό HPL (High-Pressure Laminate) με εξωτερικό μοτίβο τριανταφυλλιάς (Rosewood Pattern). Η εσωτερική αντιστήριξη βασίζεται σε μη σκαλιστό σύστημα καμαριών Non-Scalloped X-Brace 5/16" από έλατο Sitka, προσφέροντας αντοχή σε απότομες μεταβολές θερμοκρασίας και υγρασίας. Για τη σκηνική και ηχογραφητική ενίσχυση, εξοπλίζεται εργοστασιακά με το διακριτικό ηλεκτροακουστικό σύστημα Fishman Sonitone, το οποίο διαθέτει περιστροφικά ρυθμιστικά έντασης και χροιάς τοποθετημένα στο εσωτερικό της ηχητικής οπής. Η κιθάρα διαθέτει μπράτσο Rust Birch Laminate με προφίλ Modified Low Oval, ταστιέρα και γέφυρα από FSC Certified Richlite, καθώς και μαλακή προστατευτική θήκη μεταφοράς.

Choice of Materials & Acoustic Geometry Modified 0-14 Fret

The Martin LX1RE is based on the compact Modified 0-14 Fret geometry, which reduces the dimensions of a traditional guitar body to 3/4 scale, making the instrument easy to transport and comfortable to hold. The top is made from solid Sitka spruce, offering a high strength-to-weight ratio, a fast acoustic response, and a wide dynamic range that develops tonally over time. The back and sides are made from Rosewood Pattern HPL (High-Pressure Laminate), a high-density composite material that provides exceptional structural rigidity and resistance to extreme temperature and humidity changes, without the risk of cracks or warping.

Bracing Architecture & Mortise-and-Tenon Joint

Inside the soundbox, a 5/16" (7.94 mm) Non-Scalloped X-Brace system made of solid Sitka spruce is used. The non-scalloped bracing pattern provides enhanced structural integrity to the top, counteracting the mechanical stress from string tension in a small-bodied guitar while also keeping the low-mid frequencies in check to offer clear note separation. The neck joins the body at the 14th fret via a Mortise & Tenon Neck Joint, ensuring a stable fit and unobstructed transfer of the strings’ kinetic energy from the neck to the soundbox.

Fishman Sonitone Electro-Acoustic Pickup System

The guitar’s electro-acoustic functionality is based on the Fishman Sonitone system, which delivers clear, natural reproduction of its acoustic sound through amplifiers and mixing consoles. The piezoelectric transducer is positioned beneath the Tusq saddle, directly capturing the strings’ vertical vibrations. The preamp features analogue rotary volume (Volume) and tone (Tone) controls fitted to the inner edge of the soundhole, leaving the body surface intact with no external cutaways. The circuit is powered by a standard 9V battery housed in a dedicated compartment accessible from the underside of the body.
