Three ancient-themed plays for three tragedies, thus three adaptations and three applications of the "methods" of the Greek language - with all due respect to the tragic authors, but also with the inevitable betrayal from our postmodern era, its music, and its theater.
Another attempt to write by transcending the "genres" of speech and –embracing Nabokov's view, "every great writer is also a great deceiver, just as nature itself is"– to prove that literature is an invention. And searching for "truth" or laboring over "meaning" with the hypocrisy of a venerable yet best-selling theme-writer is an insult to both art and truth.
These three scripts graced the stage in a production by Giannis Leontaris in 2015, at the Cyclades Street Scene, and in the realm of the energetic elements of electronic music, in 2025, by composer Dimitris Kamarotos as part of the Athens and Epidaurus Festival.
So here it is, how Electra wails, Iphigenia practices yoga, and Phaedra falls in deadly love.
