    I bought them mainly for use on the metro as the headphones I had did not have noise canceling technology and when I was listening to audiobooks I kept pressing pause/play all the time when the noise was so loud that I couldn't hear anything.
    Yesterday I used them for the first time and I was impressed both by the clarity of the sound and by the volume. Of course, I could still hear what was going on around me, but the external noise never once overpowered the headphones.
    Very satisfied.
