If we believe the residents of the rest of France, in Nice we find sun, sea, tourists, retirees, and fascists. However, we also meet Diu Bokanera. In her fifties, childless, she loves coffee and suffers from insomnia. She is a private detective who wears combat boots; she is funny and brave, with a touch of melancholy.
One day, a man with an angelic appearance asks her to investigate the death of his partner. A few days later, he himself is murdered. Diu Bokanera will turn the city upside down to discover the culprit. A city of the rich in full reconstruction, with great economic growth and deep social contrasts, where the gay, the poor, and the migrants, despite the forms of solidarity that are developing, face suspicion and hostility.
