Description

Description

In the elegant Parisian society of the nineteenth century, the wealthy young Armand Duval meets the beautiful and mysterious Marguerite Gautier, a young woman of liberated morals.

They fall in love, and Marguerite agrees to abandon her sinful past for Armand's sake and follows him to the countryside, far from the city and the constraints of Parisian society.

However, this idyllic illicit relationship is suddenly interrupted by Armand's father. At that point, Marguerite, without any explanation, leaves him, sending only a farewell letter. Armand, astonished by this turn of events, makes various assumptions, which, however, will be proven wrong.

The Lady of the Camellias is a story within a story, as Armand Duval passionately narrates what has happened. The work describes a touching tale of unfulfilled love, sacrifice, social condemnation, and the power of love, which truly never dies.
